Who is the toughest cowboy? Well like everything else there is a competition to find out. I'm Jeff Keane stay tuned to the American Rancher to learn about the athletes that ride ALL the rough stock&. in one night. I always knew the old timers that rodeoed and ranched were tough. They were the guys that did it all and like contenders for Jagermeister's 2008 Toughest Cowboy Competition they did it all&. in one night! Here's Susan Allen with the story: Jeff I know I am tough enough to wear pink but sure not tough enough to take a shot at Jagermisters 2008 Toughest Cowboy Competition. I wish I were because instead of a trophy buckle or saddle this years winner, Shane Proctor, (originally from the Northwest) won a deed to the Jager Ranch, a 35 acre spread in Colorado. How about that! After months on the tour, it came down to just four finalists who had to climb aboard six head of stock ; two bareback, two bulls and two saddle bonc at an evenings performance in February in Ohio. The difference between winning the ranch came down to just one eight second bull ride between Shane Proctor and last years winner Trey Boussard. Now you know I was still rodeoing when Shanes' dad Lucky was competing . Since then, I helped with a lot of rodeos where Lucky and his wife Kathy worked as judges, timers or rodeo secretary. So congratulations to Shane, Kathy and Lucky.
