03/18/08 WCA/WSU Bull Test Sale

Washington Ag The Washington State Cattlemen's Association/Washington State University All Breed Bull Test Sale is coming up March 26th at WSU Prosser. Gary Kendall of Kendall Cattle Sales is the sales manager. Kendall: "The Washington Cattlemen's Association has really gotten behind this sale and helped to promote. It has increased in popularity with both buyers and sellers. We had to turn bulls away this year. We have to limited the number that come in. We do have a limited space. This year there is 179 bulls. And they represent eight breeds. New breeds are Gelvieh and Balancers. Balancer is a Gelbvieh/Angus cross, but we do represent a good cross-section of the industry." Sale day activities will start at 8:00 am Wednesday, March 26th, with a trade show. This trade show is being implemented and organized by the WCA Allied Industry members. That group will be hosting a tri-tip lunch prior to the sale. The bull sale will start at 12:30 pm Wednesday, March 26th at the Research and Extension Center. Only the top 135 bulls will be sold.
