02/22/08 Cowman's Classic Bull Sale

Washington Ag February 22, 2008 The 2008 Cowman's Classic All Breed Bull Sale is scheduled for next Tuesday February 26th at the Interstate Fairgrounds in Spokane. Gary Kendall manages the sale which is sponsored by state and regional breed associations. Kendall: "Seventy-nine bulls. We are down a little from previous years. I think it is a sign of the times you know, more production sales going into existence and some of the breeders have opted to go in with another there, but the bulls we have are quality bulls. We represent several breeds, six breeds in all. It has been a good place for people to come. And especially what some people like is the halter breaking of the bulls. For places that need to have something that is more docile they are pretty much guaranteed that that's the case." And Kendall says the bulls are guaranteed. The sale is set for 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, February 26th with a complimentary tri-tip lunch preceding the sale. Grading and sifting takes place Monday the 25th at 11 a.m. Also scheduled for Monday the 25th is the third annual Cowman's Classic 4H and FFA Beef Judging Contest. That event begins at 10 a.m. I'm Bob Hoff.
