E. Coli Testing & More Rains Forecast. I'm Greg Martin with today's Northwest Report.

More testing is being done on that Costco chicken salad and officials say they are unable to confirm the presence of E. coli in the salad. They have been testing onions and celery used from Taylor Farms Pacific. The Montana health officials who did the original testing say that this doesn't mean their initial testing was wrong and a statement from the CDC says the onions and celery have not been ruled out as a suspect. 19 people in seven states have gotten sick with 5 being hospitalized.

Portland saw its December one-day rain total destroyed on Monday. 2.67 inches of rain which caused some significant flooding in some areas. Other areas of the northwest are cautioning drivers in slide areas to be wary. According to meteorologist, Brad Rippey, there is more rain coming.

RIPPEY: We have another big storm moving in so we could be looking at some fairly extensive flooding issues across western sections of Washington and Oregon, even across the eastern slopes of the Cascades and moving into some of the drought areas of interior Washington and Oregon.

That chance of rain runs through the weekend.

That's today's Northwest Report. I'm Greg Martin on the Ag Information Network of the West.
