Welcome to Vine to Wine this is your host Linda Moran. The holidays are in full swing and I am having a great time looking at all of the holiday magazines. The amazing number of ideas and solutions is endless for gift giving to the wine fancier on your list.
I was asked recently what gifts I would recommend this holiday season for wine lovers. I like the usual items such as a set of gorgeous Champagne flutes or a set of four high end wine glasses. But as I was perusing the pages of the December Food & Wine magazine I found a recommendation in the gift guide for a wine glass called Silhouette. It looks like a fine wine glass such a Riedel with one major and defining difference. The glass rim has a soft shaped but deep notch cut in it to accommodate your nose. This is done in an effort to better accommodate the fact that the majority of your ability to taste comes from your sense of smell. I went to the website and watched a brief video of how the glasses are made, how to drink out of them and of course how to purchase them. It is nothing if not novel but they are spendy, although there is a steep discount right now as an introductory offer. You know I wouldn't mind receiving a set hint hint. They are only available on line at greatest wine glass dot com. Remember to send your wine questions to Linda at vine to wine dot net and thank you for joining me on today's Vine to Wine.
