It's that time of year! Believe it or not the holidays are right around the corner and it's also quite obvious by virtue of the catalogs I have been receiving en mass, this holiday season will be all about green, eco- green . I always thought of Thanksgiving and Christmas in a natural context anyway. Thanksgiving in itself is a cornucopia of pumpkins, nuts fruits and gourds and of course now organic turkeys. Christmas has always been all about green; boughs of green, wreaths of green, green holly and ivy, green trees. Yet apparently the environmental movement believes we should delve even deeper into our often dormant eco-souls , "go greener they cry." Send 100 percent recyclable cards, (preferably printed in soy.) If you must have tree don't you dare cut it, get a live one and decorate it with a bevy of ornaments concocted from recycled materials like light bulbs. Batteries must always be rechargeable and gifts placed in reusable boxes never wrapped. Word of warning! Don't get so consumed with creating a "green" holiday that you find yourself in the "red" come January.
