So you think you have done a good job cutting back on your eating, or dining out? Well think again, because according to the most recent data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics Consumer Expenditure Survey, the "typical" US household spent nearly $6000 on food in 2005 and that number is up 2.6 percent from the previous year. Throw into that mix the Census Bureau statistics on household income that report the medium house hold income in America rose a measly 1.1 percent and that the average American now makes $ 46, 326.00 dollars a year. Now then that seemingly "modest" $6000 spent on food equates to about 13 percent of our yearly total expenditures of $46,409.00 Do the math!The majority of us still spend more than we make. We could cut our expenses considerably if we simply ate at home more often. One statistic that has risen quite dramatically is that nearly half of all of our food expenses, (44.4 percent ) are spent dining out
