Welcome to Vine to Wine this is your host Linda Moran. As many of you know my new favorite wine is usually the wine that is in my glass at the time. Recently I had a nice little Italian blend made by one of the patriarchs of the Washington Wine industry and it was oh so tasty!
You may know him as one of the finest and most senior winemakers in the state of Washington, you may know him as the honorary winemaker of the 2007 Auction of Washington wines. His name is Brian Carter and he is without a doubt one of the finest winemakers I know. His wines are known for their finesse longevity and depth of character. Long the partner and wine maker for Apex Cellars Brian has struck out on his own and is building a winery near Woodinville Washington, Brian Carter Cellars. I recently had the pleasure of opening one of his new wines named Tuttorosso, which is Italian for "all red" and is Brian's tribute the creators of the Italian Super Tuscan blends, itself a blend of 64% Sangiovese 27% Cabernet Sauvignon and 9% Syrah. I have to tell you the story of when I poured it a few nights ago. There were two bottles of wine open on the table. After a taste of the Tuttorosso each guest savored their glass and lingered over it as we watched the evening come over us. And for the first time in awhile no one touched the second bottle. I re-corked a bottle of wine leftover from dinner. Remember to send your wine questions to Linda at Vine to Wine dot net and thank you for joining me on today's Vine to Wine.
