You might well ask&how high the moon when you see the price at the pump. While gas prices have been well over $3 dollars a gallon in California for some time, record high prices are appearing across the northwest with average prices reaching $3.18. The national average is $2.87. Lacy Gray has a look at prices.
A quick sampling of gas prices around the northwest has Medford/Ashland $3.19, Eugene/Springfield area $3.17, Portland at $3.11, Seattle $3.21, Spokane $3.00 and Boise below the 3 dollar mark at $2.82.
You can find the lowest gas price in your area online by searching for MSN gas prices and type in your zip code.
The USDA has sent its first Farm Bill legislative draft to Capitol Hill. Ag Secretary Mike Johanns says that legislation to implement the rest of the Farm Bill proposals are on the way and he anticipated the Energy & Rural Development Titles to be ready for Congress by next week. Keep your fingers crossed.
