NFR 2006 Well the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas is over. About all there is left to do is thank and praise our contestants from the Northwest. I'm Jeff Keane; I'll be right back to do just that. The talent showcase of the Professional Rodeo Cowboy's Association, the 2006 National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas is history, but I would like to take a little time to tell our Northwest contestants congratulations for earning the privilege to perform in that prestigious rodeo event. Anyone who has gone down the road competing in any rodeo circuit knows the time and commitment it takes to become a top competitor. Rodeo time is the reward for the time spent practicing, traveling and practicing some more. For anyone aspiring to get in the top fifteen contestants in their event on the PRCA circuit that time and commitment is magnified about ten times. Actually performing at the National Finals Rodeo without getting caught up in the hype and spotlights takes a special focus and concentration. Idaho, Oregon and Washington can be proud of the eleven Northwest individuals that competed in their events. I would like to name them all but I really don't have the time to do their accomplishments justice. Besides each community knows the hometown riders and ropers they were rooting for. I will say our Northwest contestants competed very well with nine of the eleven placing ninth or higher in the ten performance average. Two other performers placed eleventh and twelfth in their event. I hope all of you are back at the finals next year and that more of the Northwest finest join you. I'm Jeff Keane.
