Happy New Year and welcome to Vine to Wine! This is your host Linda Moran and I am very excited about 2007. During the coming year we want to expand our programs into areas and topics interesting to you the listener. With that in mind, I encourage you to visit our website at Vine to Wine dot net and let us know what you would like to here about and the topics that most interest you. In the meantime, we are going to discuss the basics of wine tasting, and learning more about wine in 2007.
For many of you wine is simply a pleasant accompaniment to a meal or a moment of relaxation and conviviality. To others it is a serious hobby and studying and collecting wines is a preoccupation to say the least. Either way - it is fun to know how to taste a wine and accurately describe it. It helps to understand a written description of a wine you may be considering. This week we begin a series of programs describing how we taste wine and use terms to describe it accurately. Let us start today with what I consider the most important aspect of tasting and learning about wine and that is attitude. If you have the attitude that no matter how much you do or do not know, this is supposed to be fun and there is always something to learn, then you have the right attitude. Tomorrow we will begin this series about tasting and describing wine when we explore how our senses contribute to our appreciation of wine. Remember to send your wine questions and ideas for new topics to Linda at vine to wine dot net and thanks for joining me on today's Vine to Wine.
