Washington Ag November 15, 2006 The Specialty Potato Field Day is being held this Friday, November 17th at Prosser at the WSU research center. The field day begins at 11 a.m. There will be research results as well as an explanation of the PVMI commercialization protocol. Innovative potato dishes will be prepared by renowned chef Erika Cenci. Your asked to RSVP Chuck Brown at 509-786-3454. WSU Extension is offering a workshop for farmers and landowners on developing equitable farmland leases on Monday November 20th in Spokane. WSU Ag Economist Herb Hinman, who will teach the workshop, says farmers have complained to him the past two years that they would have to go out of business if they could not renegotiate their lease agreements. Hinman will demonstrate a computer software program that farmers and landowners may use to calculate their respective farm incomes using a variety of cash and crop share leases. The workshop is free and will be at the Spokane Extension Education Center from one to four p.m. November 20th. Pre-register by November 17th. A groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the main building for the Eastern Washington Agricultural Museum near Pomeroy is being held Monday November 20th at 2 p.m. The museum at the Garfield County Fairgrounds will house, display and demonstrate the uses of agricultural equipment dating from the horse-drawn era to the mechanized era of the mid-1950s.
