More than 1.8 million California households face food insecurity, a reminder that even in the nation’s most productive agricultural state, access to nutritious food is not guaranteed.

That’s one reason the California Milk Advisory Board is again partnering with Raley’s Food For Families on the “Do Good with Dairy” campaign during June’s National Dairy Month.

California dairy families, through the CMAB, will match customer donations made in stores and online dollar-for-dollar, up to $35,000. The funds will help provide California dairy products to feeding programs throughout the state. Throughout June, “Do Good with Dairy” messaging will appear in stores and online to encourage participation.

California Agriculture Secretary Karen Ross said partnerships like this help get fresh, nutritious dairy products where they are needed most.

California dairy farmer Nicole Morris said milk and dairy foods remain among the most nutritious and affordable food options available.

Milk donations from the campaign will be distributed through 12 Food For Families partner food banks
