Southern Voices in Agriculture: Share Your Story
A new nationwide Women in Agriculture Study has just launched, reaching across the country, including right here in the Southeast, to hear directly from the women who help keep American agriculture growing strong. The survey is open through March 31 and invites input from women in production agriculture, agribusiness, education, and advocacy, along with men who can share their perspectives on women’s roles in agriculture. The goal is to better understand the experiences, leadership paths, and future needs of women in agriculture. Researchers want to learn what’s working well, where the gaps are, and how to strengthen the support systems that help women succeed. Some participants may also be invited to take part in interviews and focus groups for a closer look at mentorship, barriers, and opportunities.
American Farm Bureau Federation President Zippy Duvall said, “More than a million women play vital roles in U.S. agriculture, accounting for 36% of our country’s farmers. We want to make sure we’re clearing barriers and providing opportunities for them.”
If you’re involved in agriculture, take a few minutes to share your voice. You can find the survey link at https://www.fb.org/program/womens-leadership/national-women-in-agriculture-study
