Corn Growers Applaud California's E15 and Ag Sales to China Continue to Drop
From the Ag Information Network, I’m Bob Larson and this is your Agribusiness Update.**Applause from National Corn Growers Association President Jed Bower after California Governor Gavin Newsom signed the bill legalizing E15 in the state.
Bower says we are deeply appreciative of Gov. Newsom for making consumer access to E15 a reality. This development will save consumers money at the pump, help farmers across the country, and lower greenhouse gas emissions.
He says now Congress needs to pass legislation that will extend access nationwide.

**The Virginia Tech College of Agriculture and Life Sciences recently released its annual Global Ag Productivity Report.
Global productivity growth, which is averaging 0.76% annually, is only about one-third of the target rate of 2% per year needed to sustainably and profitably meet the demands of the world’s food systems.
While the U.S. averaged -0.05 percent annual growth the past decade, China surged ahead at 1.9 percent, threatening the U.S. edge in global agriculture.
**The U.S. ag industry continues to lose sales from trade severances with China and other trading partners, prompting Ag Secretary Brooke Rollins to say the farming economy is “not in a good place.”
During an appearance on the Fox Business Channel, she said the administration is working around the clock.
Rollins also said a “Golden Age” is around the corner for farmers, and they’d have an announcement on farmer support likely this week.
