**The U.S. and the European Union announced the framework of an Agreement on Reciprocal, Fair, and Balanced Trade.

Key terms include the EU’s intention to eliminate tariffs on U.S. industrial goods and preferential market access for a wide range of U.S. seafood and agricultural goods, including dairy, fruits and vegetables, soybean oil, and pork.

The U.S. commits to applying the higher of either the Most Favored Nation Tariff Rate or a tariff of 15%.

**California’s last factory that turns sugarbeets into sugar is shutting down after 78 years.

The LA Times reports the closure means the loss of hundreds of local jobs and the likely end of sugarbeet farming in the state.

The Southern Minnesota Beet Sugar Cooperative, which owns the Brawley, California plant, started decommissioning the plant in July.

Sugarbeets are used to produce more than half of the U.S. sugar supply alongside sugar cane.

**In 2025, domestic availability of red meat, poultry, and eggs is projected to increase, and is expected to rise further in 2026.

www.agrimarketing.com reports the latest USDA data indicate 226 pounds of red meat and poultry and about 22 dozen eggs are available per U.S. consumer in 2025.

By 2026, per capita availability is forecast to increase to

227 pounds for red meat and poultry and to 23 dozen eggs.
