Data Monitoring to Manage Weather Volatility

Farmers have always had to deal with weather extremes, and the volatility of weather patterns continues to be one of the most unpredictable aspects of farming. Andrew Coppin of Ranchbot Monitoring Solutions shares how data monitoring and new technologies are just one way to manage inconsistent climate.
Coppin... "We're seeing this sort of weather volatility, and I guess what that means to us as a technology company is if we can provide better data, better tech information for ranchers to make better informed decisions about where they sit month on month, year on year in their pastures, they can better plan their pasture and grazing management, their cropping, their pivots, whatever it is that they're doing. So, in all businesses on the planet, I mean, data has better technologies provided for better data that's allowed for better decision making. And agriculture is no different. And having data around your water consumption, around your rainfall, around the temperature, the weather, the soil temperatures, and moisture levels is going to become critical in the scheme of better decision making on farms and ranches."
Data-driven tools like those Coppin described help producers adapt to changing environmental conditions.
