California Bountiful Takes Two Taste Awards and China Retaliates

**California Bountiful TV, the long-running lifestyle program produced by the California Farm Bureau, and its host and executive producer, Aubrey Aquino, won two TASTE Awards at the 16th annual event held last month in Beverly Hills.

Aquino was named Best Producer, while California Bountiful TV earned Best Green/Organic TV Program.

Aquino says she feels fortunate to be able to share and tell the many stories of California’s agriculture with a television audience.

**China’s Finance Ministry is now imposing a 34% tariff on all U.S. imports.

The Chinese government is calling on the U.S. to immediately cancel its tariff measures and resolve trade differences between the two countries.

The ministry says the now-54% tariffs on Chinese imports are “inconsistent with international trade rules and seriously undermines Chinese interests.”

Bloomberg says it’s over China’s alleged role in the flow of fentanyl into America.

**The USDA says export sales of corn and wheat rose week-to-week during the seven days ending March 27.

Corn sales totaled 1.17 million metric tons, up 13% from the previous week and 6% from the four-week average.

Export sales for the week rose 9% to 1.81 million tons.

Wheat sales jumped to 340,000 metric tons from 100,000 the prior week and were 40% higher than the four-week average.
