Responsible Energy and GOP

From the Ag Information Network, I’m Bob Larson. A group of 21 House Republicans are pushing for an “all of the above” approach when it comes to responsible energy sources.

U.S. Representative Dan Newhouse says a letter they sent recently to the House Ways and Means Committee stated, we should include renewable sources with everything else …

NEWHOUSE … “I did talk to the Secretary of Energy and he’s very open and truly believes in an all of the above approach to energy, meaning we have to look at all sources of energy, fossil fuels all the way to hydrogen as a potential, and everything in between, nuclear, even a place for wind and solar, and certainly hydro.”

A despite what you may hear, Newhouse says …

NEWHOUSE … “Republicans don’t want to destroy the planet. That’s absolutely not true. But we want to have affordable energy for the progress of our country and for the world while we continue to do all we can to be responsible stewards of the resources that we have.”

Newhouse says it doesn’t have to one or the other …

NEWHOUSE … “I think we can accomplish both and continuing the development of some of the projects that are working towards alternative energy sources I think is a good thing.”

Newhouse says Washington can demonstrate we are an “all of the above” approach state and hopes we continue to stay on the cutting edge of technology.
