09/22/06 Catch the Crush

Welcome to Vine to Wine this is your host Linda Moran and today we are going to find out about a harvest celebration event that is coming up in Washington Wine Country. Catch the Crush 2006 will be celebrated September 23 and 24 in the Columbia Valley. Each year we anticipate the harvest and a peak at the new vintage. It is a time for lots of hard work and a little bit of celebration. The participating wineries open their tasting rooms to allow all of us consumers a chance to join in that celebration with food, art or music, and of course special tastings of reserve wines or library wines as well as special discounts on purchases. It varies from one winery to another and that is what keeps it interesting and fun. They do ask that you either purchase your wine glass or bring your own with you. This year an upgraded VIP Ticket is available and you will receive a lovely 18 ounce Riedel wine glass with that along with access to extra special events at each of the wineries.
