Beef-On-Dairy Gaining In Popularity in China

The dairy industry is undergoing significant changes, particularly as producers look for ways to diversify and adapt to market challenges, hence the beef-on-dairy trend. This evolving sector has taken off in the United States, and Ian Lahiffe believes China will use the U.S. model to develop its crossbreeding efforts.
Lahiffe… “So if you look at the dairy industry, these guys have been in kind of expansion mode for the past 10 years. So everybody was carrying a lot of heifers and they were only kind of using dairy genetics. But in the past, you know, three or four years as they realize, well, you know, the can't sell the milk we have the beginning to move towards beef and dairy. So there's a company called Adopt-A-Cow, which is a publicly traded company, and they've started their own now. So they're working on Angus and Wagyu crosses and they have their own beef brand set up. So, Adopt-A-Cow started and they're very, very strong in the fresh milk and now into beef. So they're probably leading the way on this beef and dairy trend. But I do think, you know, there is going to be kind of a major change in the industry as they begin to kind of move to a similar model of the U. S. where they'll, you know, beef and dairy will become a big thing. The moment it isn't. So an opportunity there, probably a lot of know-how in the U. S. people that could probably come over and find interesting business opportunities in that space.”
Again that’s Ian Lahiffe.
