From the Ag Information Network, this is today’s Fruit Grower Report. If you haven’t heard the news yet, the Washington Apple Education Foundation has a familiar face back in the Executive Director’s chair.

After spending a few years with Larson Gross accounting, Jennier Witherbee has returned to WAEF …

WITHERBEE … “I’m so blessed that I got to do this for over 20 years. And WAEF grew a lot during that time and I really felt like, at that time that I left, that I didn’t have what was needed to get to the next level, to help WAEF get to that next level.”

But after gaining valuable experience in the professional services industry, Witherbee says she’s ready …

WITHERBEE … “The time away really helped with that and I’m so appreciative of what I got to learn during those three years, and just thrilled to be able to bring that back to WAEF and help us move forward.”

So, now with a month or so to get comfortable again, how does it feel to be back? …

WITHERBEE … “That’s been amazing. The people, certainly my absolute favorite part of it, I’ve really enjoyed that I’ve had some of our former students that have been reaching out now that I’m back at WAEF. Just love getting their updates on what does life look like now. That’s just been so neat to get to hear from them.”

But, Witherbee says it’s not just the students she’s glad to see …

WITHERBEE … “Connecting with donors and you know their passion is there for the students and that quickly ignites that, I think, in others when you get to have those conversations with donors.”

Tune in tomorrow for more on the return of Jennifer Witherbee as Executive Director at WAEF.
