Adopt a Cow Program Pt 2
From the Ag Information Network, I’m Bob Larson. Dairy Farmers of Washington is promoting the “Adopt a Cow” program with an enrollment deadline of September 15th.Sprince Arbogast, Media and Industry Relations Manager for Dairy Farmers of Washington, says the program allows students to see where their food comes from by adopting and following a Washington dairy calf’s progress …
ARBOGAST … “Well, the Adopt a Cow program offers live, virtual chats and farm tours, and the class allows students to talk directly with a dairy farmer. You get to meet their calves. You get to tour the farm and ask questions about milk production.”
And that, Arbogast says goes on all year …
ARBOGAST … “Throughout the year, they also receive activities that they do within their classroom, and they follow the common core standards in math, reading and science.”
So, who is this program set up for? …
ARBOGAST … “Well, the Adopt a Cow program is available to a variety of educational programs, and that includes schools, after school programs, home schooling, and adult community groups.”
And where can we sign up? …
ARBOGAST … “Go to www.discoverdairy.com to sign up.”
If you have any questions about the “Adopt a Cow” program, Arbogast says feel free to call Dairy Farmers of Washington.
