From the Ag Information Network, I’m Bob Larson. Ever wonder where your food actually comes from? Well, Discover Dairy’s “Adopt a Cow” program is again open for enrollment for the 2024-25 school year.

Dairy Farmer’s of Washington Media and Industry Relations Manager, Sprince Arbogast says the enrollment deadline for the Adopt a Cow program is September 15th …

ARBOGAST … “The Adopt a Cow program is a yearlong, free, interactive learning opportunity which impacted 1.2 million students worldwide last year. The program brings agriculture into the classroom giving students an inside look at a dairy farm.”

But, Arbogast says it’s called the “Adopt a Cow” program for a reason …

ARBOGAST … “So, each Washington classroom that enrolls in the Adopt a Cow program is paired with a calf from a Washington dairy farm.”

And, Arbogast says, once the classes begin …

ARBOGAST … “Teachers and students, they will receive photos, video updates and activity sheets throughout the school year that will allow them to watch their calf grow.

And this is actually a great opportunity for students to gain a deeper understanding of where their food comes from.”

Tune in tomorrow for more on the free “Adopt a Cow” program for your classroom or go to www.discoverdairy.com/adopt to get signed up … or contact Dairy Farmers of Washington.
