**Due to economic impacts in the Klamath Basin, county leaders are urging water officials to provide a full water allocation to irrigators this year.

Klamath Water Users Association Executive Director Paul Simmons said inadequate water allocations have real consequences for working families and farm communities.

An Oregon State University study released last week that concluded water shortages in the Klamath Water Project have led to devastating economic impacts in the region.

**Several key agricultural groups issued responses to the Senate Ag Committee Republicans’ farm bill framework.

Gregg Doud, President and CEO of the National Milk Producers Federation, calls it a strong framework that marks another important step in enacting a farm bill.

The National Cattlemen’s Beef Association also reacted positively, noting it’s a farm bill framework that cattle producers can proudly support.

Democratic reaction to the Republican framework was less supportive.

**The nation’s top ag retailers responded to a CropLife Survey on their overall outlook for the 2024 growing season based on market performance through spring fieldwork and planting time.

On a scale of one to 10, with 10 being “better than expected,” a little more than eight of 10 rated the year between 5 and 10.

53% said the 2024 growing season rates are between 5 and 7.

Only 14% rated the season below 5.
