Time is money, especially in the agriculture industry. That’s why the team at Farmwave made an autonomous harvest loss system that uses artificial intelligence and cameras to detect harvest loss in real-time. Founder and CEO Craig Ganssle says results are monitored in the cab without farmers ever having to stop equipment.

Ganssle… “Farmers spend so much time, resources, energy, putting everything in the ground at the beginning of the season, caring for it all season long. When it's time to get it out, don't just roll through the field and hope for the best. We wanted to empower them during that time because it is, it's difficult. It's difficult to get out and scratch around in the dirt and figure out, well, where did this loss come from? You know, or look at strike plate sensors, which really just kind of bounce up and down. Don't have anything to do with the header loss, only the combine. sometimes get clogged up and you have to stop and get out and unclog them so that they give you good accuracy. Drop pans are also pretty good, but you still have to stop and get out and go through the pan. And farmers are like, I just got to go. And for us, it was, how do we solve the problem of just letting them go so that they'll do it? The farmers do get it pretty quick when we tell them they do. Sometimes they're like, that's too good to be true. And we'll, we'll show you, but. That's what it's all about, right? It's about that value. And I think we need to see more of that, not just in agriculture, all across the board with AI.”
