Grizzly Bear Update Pt 2
From the Ag Information Network, I’m Bob Larson. U.S. Representative Dan Newhouse has introduced legislation which would withdraw the National Park Service and U.S. Fish and Wildlife’s proposed Grizzly Bear Restoration Plan.
Newhouse says you don’t have to look far to see why it’s a bad idea …
NEWHOUSE … “Delegations from other states in the Western United States have been helpful here. All we have to do is point to other states and look at the issues that they are having with the interaction of bears and communities throughout the Western states where they are located.”
Newhouse says they’ve asked the same questions before …
NEWHOUSE … “You know we’ve had public meetings on this just a couple of years ago where hundreds of people turned out in force to make clear that this is not something that they want, and I think the federal government needs to continue to listen to the people who are most affected.”
Newhouse says it should be about the folks who live there …
NEWHOUSE … “The vast majority of them have come from out of state, some even from out of country, that are advocating for the introduction of Grizzle Bears. I really think that we need to put more weight on the voice of the people who are directly impacted, not from people who live thousands of miles away.”
Newhouse says Central Washingtonians have consistently voiced their opposition to the reintroduction of grizzly bears, but unelected bureaucrats continue to try to force these predators upon us.
