07/14/06 Farm Bureau Summer Conference

Washington Ag July 14, 2006 The Washington Farm Bureau's annual Summer Conference is being held today at the Three Rivers Convention Center in Kennewick. Farm Bureau spokesman Dean Boyer says the summer event is a much more relaxed atmosphere than the organization's annual convention in November, but members will be getting some reports. Boyer: "And one of the things we are going to be doing is hearing from several Washington Farm Bureau members who are serving this year on commodity advisory committees for the American Farm Bureau Federation. These members attended meetings earlier this year several days in length, to discuss nationwide issues involving various commodities. And they will report back to our members what the national take is on some of these issues involving wheat and feed grains, horticulture and other commodities." Steve Appel, Washington Farm Bureau President and American Farm Bureau Vice-President, will also update members on key issues. The event is free to Farm Bureau members. I'm Bob Hoff.
