Author of Omnivore`s Dilemma, and anti- commercial agriculture, fear monger Michael Pollan and a host of others can criticize Wal-Mart until they are blue in the face about Wal-Marts move to bring organic food to the masses, by making it affordable. Yet in the case of the organic industry, sustainalbity and even the environment could benefit when a behemoth like Wal-mart makes a green move. Our government has been piddling around toying with alternative fuels for years while countries like Brazil have figured out in the period of a few years how to grow their own. It will take a Wal-Mart to make the big dogs in politics and petroleum notice. Neophyte eco-maniac Wal-Mart is now taking a hard look at offering E85 a ethonal/gas mixture at nearly 400 of their filling stations . If Wal-Mart leads we could soon be driving down the yellow brick road towards the true Emerald City, a city dependant on agriculture for fuel.
