Here we go again, another attack on milk, and rest assured this one, like the others will backfire! Recent headlines claimed that drinking milk may increase the rate of twin births, as if that was something terrible. Apparently a doctor reached this conclusion after studying the medical records of 1042 vegan mothers and compared them to women who consumed dairy products. He found that those who diet contained dairy products had higher hormone levels associated with ovulation, naturally, (forgive the pun,) the article was planted to create unwarranted fear over bovine growth hormones. I think the opposite occurred. Poor nutrition as evidenced in the vegan mothers and as we have observed in third world countries, results in lower number of twining and lower birth rates. So I would council all of my friends trying desperately to get pregnant, women that would be overjoyed at the prospect of twins to drink milk and lots of it. This study might have proved that dairy products actually increase fertility.
