It never ceases to amaze me, how quickly some people forgo their belief system for the sake of personal comfort. It is easy to point the finger at the celebrity who arrives via private jet at the Cannes film festival to promote to his global warming movie, but take a look at your neighbors. More and more people now shun anything but organic produce for fear of traces of pesticides. Yet aren't these the same folks that will bath themselves and children in mosquito spray before venturing into nature? Come on, we all really know who is buying those new LL. Bean and Ex Officio fly fishing pants, shirts, and hats saturated with insecticides. The ones that criticize farmers for spraying FDA approved products. The new clothing line with permethrin is truly a revolution in insecticide. A test in Alaska found that individuals using insecticide treated clothing and DEET reported being bit by mosquitoes once every hour over an eight hour period while those without insecticide averaged over 1100 bites per hour. Can you blame greenies for shelving their organic mantra in light of a ravenous mosquitoes?.
