Save Our Dams Rally
From the Ag Information Network, I’m Bob Larson. A rally with community leaders, stakeholders, and citizens of Central Washington will gather tonight for a rally in Richland to show how critical the Lower Snake River Dams are for agriculture, transportation, navigation, irrigation, tourism, and clean energy.U.S. Representative Dan Newhouse will be one of those on the Fingernail Stage at Howard Amon Park at 7:00 o’clock …
NEWHOUSE … “I think it’s just very important that the community learns all of the latest developments, comes together to support the dams, and let everyone else know that we can draw as much attention to this issue as we possibly can.”
Newhouse expects a diverse group to be there …
NEWHOUSE … “We’ve invited agricultural leaders, public utility district representatives, we’ve got experts in the scientific field, a lot of community members are going to be there.”
Newhouse says 5th District Representative Kathy McMorris
Rodgers will also be there…
NEWHOUSE … “This is going to be a great opportunity to, I think, raise awareness of a lot of people about the current situation. And so, I’m encouraging people to come to learn as much as they can about the issue so that we can all be as informed as possible to help others understand how important these dams are to our community.”
Again, the rally begins at 7 o’clock this evening at Howard Amon Park in Richland.
The rally will be preceded by a Public Safety Community Forum at the same location, starting at 5:30.
