By now you have probably heard about the new infinity Zero- Gram Trans fatty French fry, if not, welcome to America's new mouthful. Oh yes these sleek little buggers sounding more like a luxury car than a slice of a potato, are making waves in the food service industry for revolutionizing our favorite indulgence, the French Fry. Being the skeptic I am and filled with memories of dismal healthy food alternatives like low- fat potato chips, I couldn't have been more surprised by the positive consumer testing. It seems the Zero-Grams Trans fat French fry offers the same taste, aroma and crispness of traditional fries. The JR Simplot company one of the largest suppliers of French fries worldwide developed this new fry to help address health concerns associated with saturated fats. The poor fry has taken heat with the sensationalized acrylamide scare and then the Atkins diet. The Zero-Gram Trans Fat Fry is great news not only for those of us who like fries but for potatoes farmers as well.
