FRUIT BITES S6E8 MAY 24-26 WALE MIXING

BL: Welcome back to another “Fruit Bites” brought to you by Valent U.S.A. With us again is Valent’s Allison Walston. And this week Allison, we are talking about mixing order and WALE.

AW: My colleague in California, Todd Burkdoll, was talking about an acronym, WALE, to remember the order for tank mixing products in the spray tank. This helps minimize nozzle plugging and gives other products time to dissolve. So, I thought this was the perfect topic for Fruit Bites.

BL: So, we start with 1/3 to ½ water in the tank and agitation on, but for those of us greenhorns, what is. W.A.L.E.

AW: W: wettables. Your water soluble bags, powders and granulars. If these are going straight into cold water, they will need agitation, a stir or pre-dissolving so they don’t clump up like hot cocoa.

A: aqueous products: suspensions, soluble concentrates

L: liquids: liquid fertilizers and adjuvants

E: emulsible products: SE, ECs, oils, etc.

Always read and follow the product label which includes mixing instructions and order for best results.

BL: Well, thanks Allison. Join us again next time for Fruit Bites, brought to you by Valent. Until then, I’m Bob Larson.
