It’s time for your Farm of the Future Report. I’m Tim Hammerich.

There are many great sustainability stories in agriculture. But in 2021, messages fall on deaf ears unless they are backed by data. Fortunately, companies like SomaDetect are helping dairy producers collect data to truly understand and articulate their own sustainability. CEO Bethany Deshpande says all aspects of operational efficiency contribute to the overall sustainability of a dairy.

Deshpande… “All of these things come together and are building what is a really rich story from a bunch of data. At the end of the day, every single farm is different. Every single cow is different and every herd is different. I like to say every farm is kind of its own scientific experiment. And the farm controls certain variables, and you know, there's other variables that are outside of our control. There's environmental variables and all these things. And completely influence your bottom line. They completely influence the milk, quality of the milk and how your herd is doing. And providing farms with visibility into that and some sense of how it's going and what they might want to tweak next or where they might want to point their attention to. That's really what we're about and how we see driving those benefits for the farms we work with.”
