Animal Ag Alliance Pt 2

I’m Bob Larson. Misinformation runs rampant, in the minds of many in agriculture, about our treatment of animals.

Casey Kinler, with the Animal Agriculture Alliance, says many activist groups are out there using sneaky methods to get incomplete information to support their agenda …

KINLER … “So, undercover videos are still a very used tactic by animal rights activist groups. We saw recently with Fair Oaks Farms, you know if they’re doing everything right, they’re very transparent, they’re inviting people to the farm, if they can get targeted by one of these undercover video campaigns, really, any farm can get targeted.”

That case, Kinler says set off alarms …

KINLER … “So, I think it woke up the dairy industry and it woke up the animal agriculture industry as a whole saying, you now, we need to be careful, you know, we can’t give them any more ammunition.”

So, Kinler says be careful …

KINLER … “Really making sure your hiring practices are up to par, that you’re doing background checks, that you’re making sure all of your employees have that animal welfare as number one, that commitment engrained in them, so if something ever does happen they will report it right away and take care of it right away.”

Kinler says it’s easy to get caught up in the negativity …

KINLER … “But, if you really talk to someone who just wants to know more information, they’re really just curious about animal agriculture or animal welfare or how their milk got from the farm to them, I think they’re very open to having conversations with the animal agriculture industry and farmers and ranchers.”

Kinler says just go to their new website to
