The Family Farm Alliance is holding their annual meeting this week. Originally scheduled to take place in Reno, it will be happening virtually. “Bridge over Troubled Water” is the theme, and Executive Director Dan Keppen says registration is available to anyone who wishes to attend.

Keppen… “We were scheduled to have our conference in Reno, Nevada, but because of COVID, our board decided to do it virtually. So, we're set for the 18th and 19th of February in the morning. We're gonna have two half day sessions with some breaks in between. Just because our experience over the last year of Zoom meetings is, you know, attention span doesn't last that long. And so what we chose to do is stick with the original dates, focus on two half days, and try to draw some really high profile speakers in our world to be there. And that's how it's coming together.”

On the program will be two U.S. Senators: Michael Bennet from Colorado and Tom Barrasso from Wyoming.

Keppen… “Then we have two house members: Jim Costa from California who is a big supporter of agriculture, Democrat. And Dan Newhouse, who is a new Republican chair of the Western Water Caucus, which focuses in on regulations and things that have an impact on Western irrigators.”

The event is taking place February 18-19. To register, go to www.FamilyFarmAlliance.org.
