The management of the National Western Stock Show is reminding folks that while the pandemic has prevented the annual program from being held live, there are still a lot of activities you can participate in online.

Celebrating the “Spirit of the National Western Stock Show “ is officially underway.

Each evening through Friday, Jan. 22, the Stock Show is featuring Virtual Happy Hours and, on the final Friday, a Marquee Concert. Musical guests will include some of the greatest acts in country music and entertainment, including Michael Martin Murphey, Baxter Black, Brooks & Dunn, the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band.

The music will be augmented by greetings from celebrities such as John Elway, Luke Bryan, and Ken Burns, and others.

Other vents include shopping online at the same vendors that you can normally see only at the stock show.

The Auction of Junior Livestock Champions is part of the lineup.

There’s a walking tour of the Yards and Stock Yards Even Center with a discussion of what to expect in 2022.

More than 200 live events were forced to shutter until next year at a cost of 120 million dollars.

But with an open schedule for only the second time in Stock Show history, the staff and management decided to apply the extra time and energy as an opportunity to give back to fellow non-profits and serve in the community. They created the Stock Show 16 Days of Service. Stock Show staff are volunteering at over sixteen non-profit programs and organizations throughout January.
