Idaho Rural Partnership has planned for a dozen leadership training sessions for business and community leaders. These one day events begin next month in Sandpoint on April 10th and end May 2nd in Caldwell. IRP executive director Dale Dixon hopes he'll get many of rural Idaho's younger generation to attend.
DIXON "For the business community we want to get them engaged in the leadership process and this is identifying new leaders. We also want to give existing leaders, those community leaders the tools and the support to stay engaged in the process because they are so important."
Dixon says opportunity abounds in rural Idaho where many areas are experiencing growth.
DIXON "Idaho is ranked number one for farmers using computers. Ag is a high tech industry and I look to foster that was well through this process."
These training sessions last all day, the cost is 15 dollars which includes lunch and materials. You have to pre-register with Dixon at the Idaho Rural Partnership website, http://irp.idaho.gov or by calling (208) 334-3131.
