It's a big goal of the Almond Board to get as many almond growers and entities to assess themselves and the California almond sustainability program. The Almond Board also wants growers to get to outreach programs that speak about sustainability. Eric Harris is the Senior Director of Science and Sustainability with SureHarvest, the technical advisor to the Almond Board. They helped develop the sustainability program.

“SureHarvest is a technology provider and our focus is on sustainability in the agricultural supply chain and working with grower groups and a variety of different organizations and implementing sustainability solutions for them,” said Harris. “And part of what we do to support those activities are implementing software solutions.”

SureHarvest designed the software program for growers to assess themselves on the California Almond Sustainability Program website.

“We’ve been working with the Almond Board for more than 10 years to help support developing CASP. So starting out with the initial definitions or development of how that program would function to where we are today with an online platform supporting the sustainability program and a variety of other parts of the program, such as those are outreach in the field meetings for growers to focus on sustainability,” noted Harris
