Lawmakers React to Milk Dumping

Milk Dumping has really begun to concern several dairy farmers, some of which have not yet been effected or asked to dump product.

Idaho Congressman Russ Fulcher grew up as a member of a dairy family in Idaho, and says he knows it's a subject that weighs heavy on farmers minds right now... He can also confirm, he has also heard directly from farmers about Milk Dumping.

Meanwhile, some food policy and farm groups are urging lawmakers to pass policies that would help small and mid-size farmers by letting farmers sell their unused produce to the emergency food system, which would help provide food for the surge of unemployed folks turning to food pantries.

Lots of farmers are already looking to participate, and many say taking steps now will help their businesses survive in the months ahead.
