Tomorrow, January 31st is the final date to obtain or change the Adjusted Gross Revenue Pilot insurance in Idaho. Tomorrow is also the final date to submit required documents to continue 2006 Adjusted Gross Revenue-Lite or AGR-Lite insurance for existing policy holders. Joanne Seufer of the Risk Management Agency office in Spokane says AGR-Lite got its start in Pennsylvania about four to five years ago.
SEUFER "It's available only in a few states right now, but also Idaho, Oregon, Washington and Alaska. In the last two years it has really outsold in Washington State all other states through out the nation. So we're excited about that. Producers here have grasped onto the product because it's a revenue based product that protects whole farm insurance."
February first is the final date to obtain or change crop insurance coverage for spring planted onions in Idaho. March 15th is the deadline to obtain AGR-Lite insurance for new applicants in Idaho and through out the Northwest.
AGR-Lite, the 2007 Farm Bill and the merger of three national dry bean organizations will be on the agenda February 6th in Twin falls at the Magic Valley Bean School. All Idaho bean growers and dealers are welcome to attend.
