The Colorado Department of Agriculture may be able to lend a hand as you go about your holiday planning.

Wendy White, marketing specialist for the Colorado Department of Agriculture says Colorado has a wide variety of products available every season of the year, and the holidays are the perfect time to celebrate what is local.

White adds that the CDA has a lot of resources to connect consumers with the producers of local products for holiday gift giving as well as holiday meal preparation.

WHITE: “We have our winter farmers market list that identifies a lot of farmers markets that extended their seasons and indoors as well. We have the Colorado Agriculture Gift Guide that has a lot of great gift giving ideas with local products. We also have our christmas tree list on our website at www.Coloradoproud.org. “

The Winter Farmers’ Market List includes markets that offer special holiday events and winter hours. The Colorado Food and Agriculture Gift Guide features locally made salsas, jams, culinary seasonings, alpaca socks, sweets and more. You can also send out of town family and friends Colorado’s grass-fed bison, local honey and bbq sauces and Colorado gift baskets.

The Christmas Tree List identifies locations for finding the perfect tree, including u-cut operations and information on cutting trees in national forests.
