With today’s Fruit Grower Report, I’m Bob Larson. Demand is driven by what the consumers want. And today, one of the biggest thing’s consumers are looking for is “sustainability.” Well, that is something Valent USA is all about.

I asked Vice President of Sales, Dion McBay why this buzzword, sustainability, is so important to Valent? …

McBAY … “We take a lot of pride in that and I’d say to us it’s a whole lot more than a “buzzword.” It’s a bit of who we are. It’s kind of a defining culture that stems from over 400 of our owning company out of Japan.”

McBay says they just want to make sustainability possible and effective …

McBAY … “At Valent USA, we strive to partner with farmers and with crop protection retailers in order to help identify areas where we can bring a portfolio of product solutions to help farmers do, to do just that, be more productive, more efficient, more effective, and at the same time do it the most sustainable ways possible.”

And, he says that includes the specialty crops out here on the West Coast …

McBAY … “Absolutely, we’re there for all of them and that’s something at Valent we take tremendous pride in and we see great responsibility in and that in tree nuts to grapes to vegetables to produce make up better than half of our business. Our portfolio is really well accepted and closely partnered on a number of orchards and groves and fields and farms throughout the U.S., not just in row crops.”
