I just saw the movie King Kong. Wow , stunning scenery , and amazing special effects . How about that great ape, now know I dated a few in college but who would ever think I would actually fall for one, hook line and sinker. He was simply special. And maybe his mysterious island habitat isn't so farfetched after all. Sensational creatures still exist today on remote islands. Apparently without human or predator intervention animals can grow to giantantic proportions. Biologist call this quirk, gigantism. Komodo dragons are actually huge lizards. Madagascar had it's elephant birds, often were over 9 feet . Giant carnivore mice thrive on the Gough Island in the South Atlantic. Sadly unless they are protected poachers, the 700 mountain gorillas living on a virtual island in Africa, and most of unique creatures on remote islands will become like King Kong merely fantasy.I'm Susan Allen and this is Food Forethought.
