Common Ground Colorado

You may heard about Common Ground - a group of volunteer women farmers and ranchers who like to host conversations about to clear up misconceptions about the food they grow and how they produce it.

Started in 2012, the group says they want to share personal experiences, as well as science and research, to help consumers like the rest of us sort through the myths and misinformation surrounding food and farming.

Colleen Peppler a retired educator, farmer in Mead and a Common Ground volunteer says another opportunity is coming up on the 28th at the Brio Tuscan Grill in Denver.

"We have invited a group of people who are nutritionists, dieticians, school food program directors and teachers. And the volunteers from CommonGround will be there just sharing information about the food we grow and how we produce it.

I think sometimes there's some misconceptions out there that really confuse a lot of people, GMO's and those kind of things." We just want to be very transparent about what we do in agriculture, especially in the 21st century. And I think it just helps the average mom or the person who is purchasing the food to better understand what is going on in the production of the food."

Commonground Colorado has a facebook page and if you'd be interested in attending this or another conversation night you can go to www.findourcommonground.com or at www.growingyourfuture.com.
