Those of you preparing that Thanksgiving meal that can seem so overwhelming, keep your perspective. Think about our grandmothers Thanksgiving without the microwave, Costco pumpkin pies, stuffing in a box and gourmet instant gravy. Yes times have changed, and while the bounty at our supermarket continues to grow from exotic out of season fruits to wines imported from nearly every country on the globe I issue a challenge this year to serve an American grown meal Yes .it's convenient, even tempting to purchase those South American blood oranges but do you really know what they were fertilized with? Our sugar farmers are fighting a loosing battle with Mexican and South American imports, how can we in good conscience, use imported sugar knowing children are being exploited as labor on sugar plantations. American Holidays should be about American Food. So serve up a statement of support and gratitude for those in this great nation that have produced it generation after generation
