November Recipe of the Month great with Turkey

November has lots of folks thinking Turkey. The Colorado Department of Agriculture is using this month to highlight another locally grown product that goes beautifully with the roasted bird.

Wendy White at the Department of Ag says they wanted to focus this month on side dishes for our Thanksgiving Day feasts.

"This month we are featuring Winter Squash which makes a beautiful and elegant side dish. Our glazed recipe is really simple."

And what if you've got kids like mine who aren't fans of squash?

"The good thing about this recipe is it has a little bit of brown sugar and maple syrup for a little bit of sweetness."

The recipe comes from Colorado Chef Jason Morse who also has a recipe for pumpkin walnut bread.

The recipe is posted at www.coloradoagriculture.com.
