Chlorpyrifos and State Attorney General Pt 2
Washington Friends of Farms and Forest's Heather Hansen says even the most recent study found nothing ...
HEATHER HANSEN ... "The most recent comprehensive health review was completed in Australia and regulatory agencies there found no evidence to change the use of chlorpyrifos and no new concerns. And, EPA has committed to continuing its review of all of the evidence. All they said is, 'we're not going to take action now. We're going to continue our review.' And we think that is the appropriate way to go rather than filing a lawsuit that would preempt that process."
I asked Hansen if, after this latest move by the Attorney General, this was anything more ... than just politics ...
HEATHER HANSEN ... "I think you nailed it. I think this is about politics which is very frustrating to those of us in agriculture. You know, we're all about producing a safe food supply and to get caught up in politics that have more to do with personalities and emotions, and not science, is very frustrating. I would hope that we could stick to science on these decisions."
This is the latest in a series of actions Ferguson has taken against the Trump administration including a suit against the attempted travel ban people from Muslim countries.
