Student-Driven CSU Bull Sale on March 25

The 41st Annual Colorado State University Bull Sale happens this Saturday. CSU Senior and member of the CSU Seedstock Merchandising Team Joanna Swenson provides more details

Swenson: "So our CSU Bull Sale is Saturday, March 25th. We'll start at 9 a.m. with coffee and doughnuts and the bulls and heifers will be on display so everyone can come see them. The sale will start at 11 a.m. and we will have a lunch to follow for everyone."

There will be 33 Angus and Hereford bulls for sale as well as 23 commercial heifers. Swenson continues

Swenson: "CSU Notorious calving-ease bull we have some great production bulls and heifers that are great to run out on pasture. A lot of people like them and they are calving ease directed."

The Seedstock Merchandising Team are responsible for all aspects of this sale each year as well as showing pens of cattle at the National Western Stock Show and representing CSU at cattle events within the state as well as nationally. Swenson shares what she has enjoyed the most about being involved in the team.

Swenson: "So I've got to enjoy the networking opportunities. We were able to get to go to the Colorado Cattlemen's Association Annual Meeting in Denver and we also went to the National Cattlemen's Beef Association in Nashville, Tennessee, for their Cattle Industry Convention. So we've got to met with a lot of leading industry professionals as well as getting to network with professors at CSU and with teammates. Gaining a lot of connections and experience within the industry has been the most beneficial."
